How do you hide a trampoline for Christmas?

Tips for Hiding A Surprise Trampoline at Christmas

A trampoline is a great present idea for the holidays. It’s a gift that the whole family can use and they will love playing on it in the garden for years to come. The children will be so excited to start bouncing away on the trampoline as soon as it is set up in your garden.

And one of the best things about a trampoline is that it can be a gift for all your children.

How to Hide A Trampoline for Christmas

After all, they will all want to have a go on their new trampoline. But while a trampoline makes a great present for Christmas, it isn’t a gift that is easy to place under the Christmas tree.

The size of the trampoline means you have to be imaginative with the present until Santa makes an appearance on Christmas eve. After all, you won’t want to sort the present last-minute. Therefore, here is our guide to how to hide a trampoline for Christmas.

1. Consider asking a family member/friend to store it in their home

One of the easiest ways to keep the trampoline a surprise from the kids is to store it on a friend or family’s property until Christmas eve. If you have a family member or dear friend who has ample room to hide a trampoline, it’s worth asking if they will do you this favour in the run-up to Christmas. You could even arrange for it to be delivered to their property so that you can just pick up the trampoline in its packing close to Christmas. We are sure they will love to be part of the big surprise when the kids see it on Christmas day. If you have a friendly neighbour, they would be worth asking as then it’s only a short trip to pick it up before the big day.

2.Hide it in an external building

You don’t want the kids to come across the trampoline inside your home when you might have limited hiding places. Therefore, you could put the trampoline in one of your external buildings in the back garden.

Whether you have a good-sized shed, a garden room or a garage, these will provide a good place to hide the item until Christmas arrives. The kids are unlikely to go into this space so it’s a great way to keep the present secret until the big day.

3. Hire short-term storage

When you buy a trampoline for Christmas, you could consider hiring a short-term storage unit for the short period in the run-up to the big day. If you only need a small container, it doesn’t have to be too costly and is a great way to store the item without the kids knowing about the big surprise for Christmas. You could find one not far from your property so that it’s easy to pick it up when Christmas does arrive.

4. Place it in the loft

If you have ample space in your loft, this is another great place to hide that trampoline. Your children will never know it’s there and won’t be able to access this area. Just make sure you lift it up and down safely and that there is nothing that could damage the box in the run-up to Christmas.

5. In a second home or holiday home

Whether you own a caravan or a holiday house, it’s a great idea to store the trampoline there in the lead up to Christmas. If you aren’t currently using either of these, it’s a great hiding place and you can just go fetch it closer to the time.

6. Pick it up late Christmas Eve and set it up ready for the day

Arrange to collect the trampoline on the last day before Christmas as late as possible.

You can then set up the trampoline straight away in the living room. That way, you don’t need to find a hiding place and it will be ready for them to use on Christmas morning. They will love being able to get bouncing straight away on the trampoline.

7. Add shifting wheels

You could look into getting some shifting wheels so that you can easily hide the trampoline in the run-up to Christmas. You can set up the trampoline and then fit the wheels so that you can then easily move the trampoline to a hidden position away from the kids.

Then when Christmas eve arrives, you can easily roll it into prime position, ready for the kids to start bouncing on it straight away.

8. Use a trampoline cover

If you are hiding the trampoline, you could use a cover to ensure it stays a secret from the kids. You can get various sized covers to fit over your trampoline. Not only will it mean the trampoline stays hidden until Christmas day, but also a cover is great if you are hiding the trampoline during the winter months.

If you have opened it up and set it up already, a cover will protect it from the harshest weather, dirt and dust. It will also stop any wildlife from sneaking around it while it’s hidden until Christmas day.

Just make sure if you have set up the trampoline to give it a quick wash before giving it to the kids. That way, it will be in tip-top condition when they get to use it on the big day.

9. Gift wrap the item straight away

One of the easiest ways to hide the trampoline from prying eyes is to gift wrap it as soon as you pick up the item in its packaging. Wrap it in Christmas paper and they soon won’t know what the item is even if they do come across it in the house!

If you are going to just keep it in its box, you could also consider putting large pieces of paper or stickers on the box over the pictures. That way, if they do come across the item in the garden or at grandma’s house, they won’t know what the item is in the box.

Hopefully, these tips will give your children the surprise of their life on Christmas day.
